The S.E. Michigan Chapter of the global Zeitgeist Movement will have a booth at this festival which celebrates artistic expression towards a more peaceful society. Our movement believes we can have world-wide peace, in our time, by transitioning to a Resource Based Economy. We will be passing out literature and discussing the main concepts of the movement with the public. If you have any questions about our alternative socio-economic system, we would love to chat with you at our booth.

2017 MI Earth Day Festival @ MI Earth Day Festival
Apr 21 @ 4:00 pm – Apr 23 @ 4:00 pm

I remember, when I was a child, playing the game Monopoly.  I was amazed at how intense the game could get and how “invested” my fellow players would become.  Inevitably, no one was having fun, except for the person on top.  Well, I feel it’s time to play a better game. One in which people are truly free and able to thrive with systems that support the well-being of all while living within the carrying capacity of the earth.  It’s time to move beyond poverty, politics, war and environmental  degradation.  Time to embrace the concepts of a Resource Based Economy.

This is the message I hope to spread at this year’s MI Earth Day Festival in Rochester, MI.  If you share in this vision, we could use your help by inviting your friends, family and coworkers.  The S.E. Mich. Chapter of the Zeitgeist Movement will have a table under the Connect Cafe tent.  We will be giving away earth stress balls, bookmarks, and literature about the movement.  We will have a presentation in the Connect Cafe in which an introduction to a Resource Based Economy video will be shown followed by a Q & A.  Would love to have your support at that time.

40th Annual Dally in the Alley @ Dally in the Alley
Sep 9 @ 11:00 am – 11:00 pm

It’s time again for Detroit’s Dally in the Alley.  We love representing the Zeitgeist Movement at this fun event.  It’s Detroit’s largest annual community festival located in the Cass Corridor district (the north end, close to Wayne State University).    This event hosts local artists, bands (on four different stages), art, poetry, and unique food vendors.  The festival runs from 11am to 11pm.  More information can be found at www.dallyinthealley.com.

The Zeitgeist Movement will have a table with lots of literature to hand out.  We will reach out to the community in attempts to educate them about the movement and how we can move beyond war, poverty, corruption and unrelenting environmental destruction.  Hope to see you there.

2018 MI Earth Day Festival April 20th- 22nd @ Rochester Municipal Park
Apr 20 – Apr 22 all-day

I’ve been reading a book entitled, The Sixth Extinction, by Elizabeth Kolbert.  This book reports on how humanity has become a driving force for species extinction, to the point where we will eventually become extinct as well.  Let’s not do that.  It’s our choice.  We can continue down the current suicidal path we’re on or strive for a more sustainable, thriving and peaceful planet.  We have the blueprints.  It’s called a Resource Based Economy or RBE for short.

We will be passing out free information about the movement, bookmarks, earth stress balls and possibly some seedlings.  Hope to see you along with family and friends at our table.
